Last night when I couldn't sleep, I got the homemade snow globe I made here and staged a scene at 1am in my messy bathroom.
"The enchanting allure of snow globes is almost as much of a mystery as their origin."

Toy Soldier Globe: 62/365
Inspired by Wendy's terrarium containers found at Ben Franklin, I made a snow globe using the only things that would fit through the small opening. An army man that was pliable enough to be pushed through with a baby spoon, an artificial plant, some buttons for color, distilled water, glycerin, and a pinch of black and white glitter.
Yay for two months of SG365! Thanks for your support!

Homemade Zen: 53/365
Going on almost two weeks of isolation with sick kids, I sought peace deep within today. It's also the start of the Chinese New Year, so it seemed appropriate to use the homemade snow globe that my dear friend, Elizabeth, made for me. I got inspiration from Stace's lovely photo here and Meg's lovely photo here. The good news is everyone is on the mend, and I have some serious snow globe support. May your weekend be filled with peace, love, laughter and health!

Casualty Globe: 49/365
This was kind of a bummer. I went on a lovely nature walk with some friends today, and was drawn to a beaver-gnawed tree. I put the globe in the whittled wooden area, snapped a few shots, then it slid out of the nook, down the hill and into the lake. It was too cold for wading in January, but I hope a fisherman or child finds this as a treasure, absolving my litter guilt.
This globe just wasn't meant to be. It was delivered to me broken, and apparently is hoping to make it's way back on to the U.K where it came from. I do like how trees are reflected in the back of the globe, and how it let me use it twice, creating an even more interesting picture. Au Revoir, Beetle car globe, it was nice working with you, may you bring someone unexpected joy.
