Inspiration: 197/365

Sunday nights are when I read the upcoming week's chapter and tasks in TAW.  Using my Nook light in the dark, the book's pages that were left out in the rain last month looked rumpled and interesting, but not enough for a pic, so I moved to the inspirational source herself, Julia Cameron, and liked the distortion the glass provided.

Here is the creative lovely, herself.  I'm currently in week seven and wanted to share what she had to say about perfectionism which I found very helpful and a reminder to "just do it!"
"Perfectionism has nothing to do with fixing things.  It has nothing to do with standards.  Perfectionism is a refusal to let yourself move ahead.  It is a loop-an obsessive, debilitating closed system that causes you to get stuck in the details of what you are writing or painting or making and to lose sight of the whole.  Instead of creating freely and allowing errors to reveal themselves later as insights, we often get mired into getting the details right.  We correct our originality into a uniformity that lacks passion and spontaneity."  -Julia Cameron

  1. I've never thought of perfectionism that way, but it makes perfect sense. (pun totally intended)

That is a really cool photo!

  2. So very true.
I really liked working through her book when I did. It was an interesting way to make art a daily thing, kind of like this 365 project... :)
