Globe Goddess: 365/365

It's only fitting that I complete my project with fellow snow globe enthusiast, Carol Brown.

She has been collecting globes for years and she, too has dealt with the heartbreak of broken globes. Here, she is holding her favorite one.

Carol has even made some of her globes.  She also makes incredible cakes!  Hausfrau Cakes, a local home bakery here in Richmond, Virginia.
Thank you, Carol for sharing your globes and home with me today!

My last post, feels bittersweet.  One year of snow globes, I did it! Thank you to all of my friends and family that supported this project, encouraging me, modeling for me, and giving me the gift of globes. Now let's all make something else!

Image Overlay: 356/365 (Sunday)

Last Sunday, I took my camera with me as I looked for Christmas decorations.  I used my camera's "image overlay" feature and created the following image with two shots.

Light:343/365 (Monday)

I had a lot of fun playing with this globe.  I took over fifty shots, but the following are my favorites.  I'm starting to feel a little sad that my project is almost over.  Only about twenty more shots to work on, and I'm going to try and make these last ones really count.  I know I'm really proud of the shot below, which was actually the last in the series taken today.  I'm glad I didn't stop at the first ten.

Making a Wish: 330/365 (Tuesday)

I'm thirty five days away from completing my 365 snow globes project.  As you can imagine, I sometimes get tired of integrating the actual globe into my photograph.  So, I've been trying to find them more and more in the natural world.  I picked this dandelion and thought it would make a nice globe, with the snowy seeds, but once I laid it down, it was the shadow I fell in love with.

Wind Chimes: 325/365 (Thursday)

Wind chimes are by far, my favorite sound.  I usually have at least four different types hung around each side of my house.  They weather pretty quickly, but this set has been through some storms.

Grass: 324/365 (Wednesday)

I haven't used this globe in a while.  So far, this one is still my favorite. It was nice before it was broken.
But here it is, enjoying some of our neighbor's grass.  Ours doesn't quite look like this.

Stick Work: 323/365 (Tuesday)

Inspired by Patrick Dougherty, I saw some branches bent from the storm months ago.  I twisted them into a globe shape and found the bending and weaving very soothing.

Skull Spotting! 308/365 (Sunday)

This may be my favorite globe sighting yet! A snow globe on a pedestal! What the heck ev!  I found it at Ross near VA Center Commons.  Though it was taken with my phone, I had used my camera plenty that morning doing a photo shoot of this cute little babe.

Look familiar? She belongs to Progeny 365ish:)
