Today, I organized my first event with RPM to The Heron Rookery/Pipeline Bridge in downtown Richmond. The best shots of the Blue Herons nesting were taken on a railroad track with rapids swirling below. It was an adventure and was a nice way to enjoy the sunny day.
"The enchanting allure of snow globes is almost as much of a mystery as their origin."

Paparazzi Globe: 41/365
Today about 40 photographers from Richmond Photography Meetup got together at Dogwood Dell for a creativity challenge. We each drew an assignment from a bag like ant's eye view, abstract, texture, storytelling, patterns, motion, negative space, fill the frame, shallow DoF, curves, reflections, b&w, from the hip, letters/numbers, and a bunch of other cool ideas. I drew emotion. It was a challenge, but I had fun.
One of the hardest parts of this 365 project for me is asking people to pose with the snow globe. I feel ridiculous! But it's good for me to try and conquer my shyness. The greatest thing is most people are happy to help, which is really encouraging. Here are some of my new photographer buddies happily obliging to pose with my 365 subject. Some of my other photos from the shoot are here.
